Pauline Brown and the Canadian Steppers
Step Dancing Ottawa Valley Style
Step dancing was born in the Ottawa Valley more than 100 years ago. Every night, lumberjacks brought out their fiddles and threw a board on the ground to tap out the rhythm of an Irish jig. Pauline Brown has taught hundred's of dancers throughout the Ottawa Valley. Currently her classes are in Ottawa at the Bronson Centre and Aylmer Quebec.
In 2003, Pauline was inducted into the Ottawa Valley Hall of Fame for carrying on the tradition of this style of dance. Pauline and her Canadian Steppers have performed together over the last few years at such events as Winterlude, Ottawa Children's Festival, and conventions for different events! The Canadian Steppers range from 6 years and up! Please welcome Pauline Brown and the Canadian Steppers to the Kanata-Carleton Cultural Festival.
