CFUW Kanata Guitar Groovers

CFUW/Kanata Guitar Groovers

CFUW is an international organization of women with over 120 clubs across Canada. Our local chapter includes 125 members who connect women to share friendship, knowledge, resources and networks in order to strengthen communities locally and globally.

Over 20 Interest groups include singing, learning to play the guitar, culinary creativity, painting, fibre arts and art tours.  The “Guitar Groovers” is an Interest group made up of 20 women who enjoy singing and playing guitar.  They practise weekly and enjoy entertaining at community events and at senior residences.  This year they have an all-Canadian repertoire.  Monies raised from their performances go to support CFUW/Kanata and the CFUW/Kanata Scholarship Trust.

Look to see them perform at “Enchanted Mosaic…an evening with the Arts” in November at the Earl of March Secondary School. This fifth annual event features a visual arts exhibition, concert & silent auction. It celebrates the outstanding achievements of visual artists & performers from our community. Proceeds from ticket and auction sales, donations and sponsorships benefit the CFUW/Kanata Scholarship Trust, a registered charity. This fundraiser assists students from local high schools going on to college or university.
